About the Role
The Senior Mechanical Consultant would be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems to ensure that the data center operates efficiently and effectively.
Required Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a reputable University (as a minimum)
Minimum 3 years of Data Centre design experience
GCC Experience
Uptime Accredited Tier Designer (ATD)
Additional Value-add qualifications
Charted Engineer
Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP)
Other Data Center Certifications (ATS, AOS, CNET, EPI, etc.)

Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of PTS.

Knowledge and proficiency in HVAC, Plumbing and fire suppression systems design calculations and sizing based on international standards, guides, and local authority regulations
Knowledge and proficiency in basic computer software applications MS Word, MS Excel, AutoCAD, HAP etc.
Knowledge and proficiency in advanced computer software applications like ANSYS, REVIT etc. is advantageous
Required Experience & Role
Managing the Data center design stages:
Prepare HVAC, Plumbing and fire suppression systems design calculations and sizing based on international standards, guides, and local authority regulations
Coordinate other team members for various design tasks.
Coordinate with Electrical Engineers for related calculations.
Assist in generating layouts/diagrams in CAD format.
Assist in reviewing material submittals and shop drawings
Assist in preparing Bill of Quantities
Familiarize with authorities for projects in various countries
Familiarize with international mechanical standards.
Familiarize with mechanical design software.
Attend internal coordination meetings.
Coordinating and reviewing design submissions from subconsultants
Familiarize with Data Centers implementations, testing, and handing over
The Senior Mechanical Consultant would review and approve design documents such as plans, specifications, and calculations prepared by the engineering team to ensure that they comply with applicable codes and standards.
The Senior Mechanical Consultant would conduct technical reviews of equipment selection, system sizing, and other mechanical design parameters to ensure that they meet the requirements of the project and the client.
The Senior Mechanical Consultant would provide technical support to the engineering and construction teams during the project's implementation and would be responsible for resolving any technical issues that arise.
The Senior Mechanical Consultant may be involved in project management activities such as budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
The Senior Mechanical Consultant may also be responsible for managing client relationships, including providing updates on project progress, addressing client concerns, and ensuring that the client is satisfied with the final deliverables.
Facilitate approval of the final design with authorities and other parties
